On Monday, I exclusively reported that CBS bossman Les Moonves began courting John Stamos to replace Sheen on Two and a Half Men during a pre-Oscar party.
It didn't take long for Sheen to weigh and take a shot at Stamos. "I love him," Sheen told Access Hollywood. "I like John, but he doesn't have what I have and the show sucks if he's on it. Sorry, just speaking the truth."
Even though Stamos as kept mum on the subject, Sheen apologized to him last night during—what else?—another television appearance.
"I was out of line and you are a beautiful man and a talented man," Sheen said yesterday on L.A.'s KTLA. "And if you get the gig, we should talk."
No word if the two have chatted, but it's doubtful. Stamos has kept mum on my report.
I'm told Stamos has yet to be contacted again by Moonves or others at CBS or Warner Bros. Television, but at least one insider says nothing will happen until executives figure out exactly what they want to do with the series.
And who knows when Stamos would be able to jump in. He tweeted a pic of some L.A. palm trees yesterday morning with the message, "last LA look as I head to recreate new years eve with god father Garry Marshall & bring some Law and Order to NY."
