Taylor Swift pulled out all the stops for her latest single, "Yo!"
She made fun of the song's release for two weeks, then formally announced it with an appearance during ABC's coverage of the N.F.L. draft. Its launch, on April 26, received full coverage, and Swift spent the next week promoting it, through a presentation at the Billboard Music Awards and a series of merchandise and music offers on its website, including four versions of vinyl and even a simple autographed CD.
But once all the numbers were counted, "Yo!", Which featured Brendon Urie of the band Panic! at the Disco - still away from No. 1 for this year's weirdest musical game: "Old Town Road," Lil Nas X's country-trap hybrid, which had its fifth week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 graphic.
"I!" Start at number 2
The positions in the Hot 100, the main chart of Billboard singles, are calculated through a combination of sales, transmission numbers and radio and radio. And while "Yo!" Had the most sales in the week (206,000 copies sold, compared to the 88,000 of Lil Nas X), according to Nielsen, was beaten by "Old Town Road" in both streaming and airplay .
"Old Town Road" had 103 million broadcasts in the United States last week, its third consecutive with 100 million to the north, while "Yo!" He had just under 51 million. "Old Town Road," which was initially ignored on the radio, was played 10,750 times at US stations last week; "I!" It was spun 7,854 times. (However, if you turned on the radio, you were more likely to hear the "Wow" from Post Malone, which was heard 12,443 times).

"People" by Hillsong United, the musical arm of the Hillsong mega church, whose followers include Justin Bieber, opened in second place on the album list with 107,000 sales. The rapper Schoolboy Q opened at number 3 with "Crash Talk," while last week, Billie Eilish's hit, "When are we going to sleep?", Billie Eilish, fell to fourth place, and "Free Spirit "by Khalid is No 5.
This week we also presented two graphics news that will be seen closely in the industry. On Monday, Billboard announced that by the end of this year, it would present Global 100, which said it would classify songs using data from 180 countries.
And on Tuesday, in what could be a major challenge for the valuable Billboard franchise, Rolling Stone said that next week it would begin publishing a portfolio of new charts with numbers from Alpha Data, the tracking service formerly known as BuzzAngle Music.
