Update: “Biggest Loser” executive producer Todd Lubin cofirmed that Anna Kournikova will indeed join the show as a trainer in an interview with Vulture.
Original Post
Tennis player Anna Kournikova is reportedly set to replace Jillian Michaels as a weight loss trainer on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.” The network wouldn’t confirm the rumor to USA Today, but did say “a big announcement” will be made on Tuesday’s finale episode. Kournikova guest starred on the show during its 10th season.
At this point in the post, you may be struggling to remember exactly who Anna Kournikova is.
The 29-year-old was once ranked No. 8 in singles and No. 1 in doubles, but has only competed once in the past eight years, according to sports blog Off the Bench. Kournikova is perhaps more famous for her relationship with Enrique Iglesias. The couple appeared together in the steamy video for Iglesias’ song “Escape.”
I guess if there’s any place in this world for a former tennis star who dates a kind of famous pop star, it’s reality television.
