Lawmakers in Indiana are struggling to find solutions for the Indiana Unemployment Fund which has gone bankrupt.
The Indiana Unemployment Fund is now out of money. In this period of high unemployment insurance rates, this news is a further blow as business owners who are already paying high rates of insurance face further increases because of the bankruptcy of the Indiana Unemployment Fund.
Governor of Indiana Mitch DanielsMitch Daniels feels that adjustments need to be made to the benefit scheme. The announcement posting the Indiana Unemployment Fund bankruptcy by the governor has reportedly got the unemployed worried. The legislative session that begins on Wednesday will focus on the Indiana Unemployment Fund and the lawmakers are already in process to draft new state legislative boundaries and budgets to solve this problem.
According to the state workforce commissioner, Mr. Mark Everson, these changes, if properly implemented, could solve the problem and get the Indiana Unemployment Fund back to normal by 2020.
