Lady Gaga Goes It Alone For Born This Way: The MTV News Quote Of The Day

"I want to stand on my own two feet. I've already collaborated with my favorite female in the business. We'll see how I'm feeling when I'm wrapping up the album."

-Pop sensation Lady Gaga, noting during a radio interview that there aren't any duets on her forthcoming album Born This Way. That "favorite female in the business" is a reference to Beyoncé Knowles, who was Gaga's tag-team partner on both "Telephone" (one of the key tracks from Gaga's The Fame Monster) and "Video Phone" (a trippy bonus track from the reissue of Beyoncé's huge album I Am ... Sasha Fierce). Both duets were nominated for awards and generated eye-popping music videos that elevated each artist's profile.

More recently, Gaga hooked up with a 10-year-old singer named Maria Aragon during a concert stop in Toronto. Aragon is a kid from Winnipeg who picked up a little bit of online notoriety thanks to her performance of Gaga's new single "Born This Way" on YouTube. Gaga was so impressed with Aragon's work that she re-tweeted the link to the video, driving nearly 19 million views to the video. Gaga brought Aragon up on stage to perform "Born This Way," her newest single and the current number one song on the Billboard Hot 100.

Lady Gaga continues to spend time on the road with her Monster Ball tour (she's in Boston tonight and then will make her way across the country again in the coming months), which will take her right up until the release of Born This Way (which is expected to hit the streets on May 23). The album's second single "Judas" should be appearing some time soon.
