The National Highways of (India have a total span of more than 67,000 km. These are long-distance primary long ways. Just 200 km of roadways have been constructed to provide more than 2 lanes in single direction. In remaining highways of India, much of the National Highways have been undivided; these highways have double lanes. Government of India has the duty to maintain these highways. The Government of India however has established private partnership with difference sectors for maintenance of these roads in some areas.
