Frankie Sandford split from McFly's Dougie Poynter in November
The family of The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford are up in arms over her new relationship with footy star Wayne Bridge, 30. Frankie - who dumped McFly bassist Dougie Poynter, 23, two months ago - went public with her relationship with the Manchester City player earlier this month. The pair were spotted heading back to Wayne's Cheshire mansion following a cosy pub lunch.
However, Frankie's dad Kevin is less than impressed as he fears dating a footballer could ruin her reputation. ‘Kev's a real straight talker and he's appalled at the thought of Frankie being a WAG,' a source tells Now.
‘She was worried about telling him because she knew how he'd react. ‘Although they realise it wasn't his fault, her family hate that Wayne was involved in the scandal centred on his ex Vanessa Perroncel and John Terry. 'They don't want Frankie to get caught up in any seedy scandal because of the people Wayne may be associated with as they fear it may damage her music career.'
