Animals chilled out

ANIMALS at Linton Zoo enjoyed the recent snowfall, although the zoo did struggle with reduced visitor numbers and unexpected closures. www.wdalaw.com
Staff put in extra hours due to frozen taps and continuous bed replacements, while there were unscheduled closed days due to visitors facilities and paths being unsafe.
Kim Simmons, from the zoo, said: “Some animals such as the toucans, cranes, reptiles lemurs and tamarin monkeys are not allowed out to play in the snow and are tucked up under heat lamps, but others such as the Amur tigers, snow leopards and even the lions think this is the most wonderful stuff.
“Lots of time and money go into ensuring they have everything they need.”
