Apple did it again: Another iPhone alarm glitch botches the new year
We know you (really, truly) wanted to start the new year off right. You wanted to rise and shine early, go for a jog 'round your 'hood, and sink your teeth into a homemade breakfast of egg whites and whole wheat pancakes — that you made yourself, of course.
But instead, when you rolled over to groggily peer at your iPhone, the clock said 8:42 a.m., and the realization quickly hit you — you were going to have to scramble something other than eggs.
What happened to 6 a.m.? Better yet, what happened to your iPhone alarm?
Well, 2011 happened, that's what. And your iPhone got glitched. Again.
It seems that alarms on Apple's beloved iPhone failed to chime this weekend after the calendar page flipped from 2010 to 2011. But who was waking up with any regularity on Saturday or Sunday anyway? Ringing alarms would only agitate the hangover.
Then Monday rolled around. The start of the new year's daily grind. Yeah, sure, Apple said the alarm nonsense wouldn't affect your Monday morning routine. But many iPhone users that trusted the gospel of Steve Jobs were disappointed this morning when their alarms simply didn't sound.
How long will the latest app failure last? Only Jobs knows.
The good news is that the glitch affects one-time alarms, so for now, set all your alarms as recurring to Band-Aid the situation. (Word is that you can also delete your preset alarms and create new ones, but we're not putting our money on that one yet.)
Sure, you may be hitting snooze a lot more often, but at least you'll have a shot at sticking with that run-before-work resolution without your gadgetry already thwarting it in the first week of the first month of the new year. dominican republic divorce
