China’s J-20 Stealth Fighter Prototype Pictures Published
According to several international news sites, China‘s state media published pictures that seem to show a prototype of China‘s first stealth fighter jet: the J-20 stealth fighter. The photos show a future J-20 fighter jet doing taxi tests on a runway at the Chengdu Aircraft Design Institute‘s airfield in southwestern China. The jet seems to be larger than either the US or Russian stealth planes, which could possibly allow it to carry heavier weapons. dominican republic divorce
The J-20 could eventually rival the US Air Force’s F-22, experts say. The J-20 “will become fully competitive with the F-22, in capability and perhaps in numbers, around the end of this decade,” Rick Fisher, an expert on the Chinese military at the International Assessment and Strategy Centre was quoted saying.
Japan‘s Asahi Shimbun newspaper reported that China plans to start test flights of the J-20 this month with plans of deployment as early as 2017. Large missiles will equip the fighter jet and could reach the island of Guam with aerial fuelling. However, it would take China 10 to 15 more years to develop the technology on par with that of the US F-22, the newspaper added.
