What you need to know

  • Series history: This will be the 113th all-time meeting between the Bears and Vikings. Currently, Minnesota holds a 58-52-2 edge over Chicago in the rivalry and they’ve been particularly dominant of late, winning four of the last five games. However, the Bears have won eight of the last nine games the two sides have played at Soldier Field.
  • The Mitchell Trubisky show: The No. 2 overall pick at the 2017 NFL Draft will make his long-awaited debut after spending four weeks behind Mike Glennon. That experiment didn’t go over well and the fans in Chicago have been clamoring for Trubisky since the preseason, so expect a serious buzz around Soldier Field for his performance.
  • Vikings must keep pace: A loss to the Bears on Monday night would be potentially catastrophic for the Vikings with the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers both sitting at 3-1 this season. If the Vikings are going to make the postseason and contend for a division title, they’ve got to be able to handle teams like the Bears when they come upon the schedule.
  • Expect a grind: In the last three matchups at Soldier Field, no team has managed to score more than 23 points. However, with the over/under set at 40, it’ll be interesting to see where the sharp money lands.
