Attendees at Nicola Formichetti’s Jan. 19 fashion show in Paris will be treated to more than just fall couture. WWD reports that Formichetti, the new creative director of men’s line Thierry Mugler and Lady Gaga‘s stylist, will have the eccentric pop star by his side to soundtrack the show. They also hint that Gaga will likely “remix a never-heard track from her forthcoming [Born This Way] album.” The language doesn’t suggest certainty. Why would she remix a track no one has heard yet? Past Gaga smashes like “Just Dance” and “Poker Face” have been used plenty of times in their original form on runways all over. Why would she want to premier a new song’s variant? Gaga’s label has yet to respond to our request for further info.
I do think she’ll debut a new track or two, though. Gaga never misses a moment. And where better to show off a new Lady Gaga record than at a highly anticipated fashion show? Believe it or not, the woman who wore the meat dress to the VMAs is highly respected in the fashion world for, if nothing else, her fearless and adventures style. “That girl is on fashion crack,” said Barneys creative directer Simon Doonan a few months back in a VH1 special dedicated to her wild outfits. What do you think of Gaga debuting some new material at the Mugler show? Let us know.
