Girl shot in Gardena High classroom fighting for her life A 15-year-old girl who suffered a gunshot wound to the head at Gardena High School is undergoing surgery and is in critical condition at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

The boy who was shot in the neck is in serious condition but is not expected to require surgery, officials said.
Hospital Chief Medical Officer Gail Anderson said one bullet appears to have struck the boy's neck before traveling to the girl's head.
"You don't see it very often, but it does occur," Anderson said of a single bullet striking two people.
It is unclear whether the girl was responsive when she arrived. She is under anesthesia and her surgery is expected to continue into the afternoon.
It is unclear if the bullet was lodged in her head, he said.
Doctors will be watching over the boy whose neck was struck to make sure there is no excessive bleeding and his airway isn't blocked, Anderson said.
Relatives have gathered at the hospital.
