So sad.

Grammy nominated R&B singer Teena Marie has passed away at 54 years old.

According to Marie's publicist, Lynn Jeter, she suffered a grand mal seizure a month before her death. The R&B singer gave us 13 studio albums over the course of her career, and she was one of the top white artists under the Motown Records label.

Our thoughts are with Marie's friends and family and many, many fans.

She will be missed.
