An Exception To The Rule

An Exception To The Rule

When most celebrity couples split, they always say they "remain friends." It's always bullshit!

But, in the case of Pink and Carey Hart, it's not spin. It's true.

The rebel diva has posted the following message on her official blog, asking her fans to be cool with Carey, cuz he's cool and they're really still cool.

She says:

"Hi everybody.

I wanted to reach out personally to all my fans/friends out there in the world. First and foremost, thank-you for all of your support and love, it means a lot to me right now. The most important thing for you all to know, is that Carey and I love each other so so much. This break up is not about cheating, anger, or fighting. I know it sounds like cliche bullshit, but we are best friends, and we will continue to be. All I know at this point, is that I want to make the best album I can, and Carey wants to do the best possible job he can with everything he has going on. He is a good man, so please support him as well. One never knows the future, but mine and Careys' just might involve beach babies and sunshine one day. Just not right now.

Thanks for the concern and caring.

Sir Paul McCartney

Perez was lucky enough to be asked to participate in the pre-show and post-show coverage for the Brit Awards and - by far - the highlight of the evening (and 2008) was the following:

Paul McCartney, living legend, walks by Perezzers. Sees him. Stops.

He comes over to us and says, "You're that fella…."

We're dying.

"I've read about you," the former Beatle tells us.

Dead.

"Yeah, I think I've read about you too," we answered back.

Legend!

The entire evening was magical.

Mika opened the show with a medley of his hits, including a surprise duet with Beth Ditto.

Leona Lewis reminded us all why she was able to transcend from reality TV show (the X Factor) to global superstar. Her performance of Bleeding Love was blistering.

Rihanna, Kylie, Amy Winehouse, Kate Nash, Adele: so many of our favorites were there.

And, most convenient of all, the best of all the after-parties was at our hotel, where we always stay when we come to London!

The Universal party at The Hempel saw the likes of Kelly Osbourne, The Feeling and Sophie Ellis Bextor, and we got to chat with them all.

Avril Lavigne's midget husband, that dude from that band Sum 41 that had a hit or two forever ago, was there. He ran away from us faster than you can say, "Your wife is a hack!"

Most importantly, we got to celebrate with Mika his win for Breakthrough Artist.

We love London. We love the Brits. We love the British people! We LOVE music!

Quote of the Day

"I want to collaborate with Amy [Winehouse] because she's really hot and cool right now. I know one song Rehab was very popular particularly because a lot of young people are in rehab as well. In fact I'm thinking about going. It looks like loads of fun and I know my career will benefit from it."

No Love For Xtina

No one cares about her baby!

The People magazine with Christina Aguilera and her son, Max, has proven to be a dud.

The issue is expected to sell 1.3 million copies.

The average weekly sales for People, though, is 1.4 million.

The mag likely doesn't see the underperformance as a loss, even though they paid close to $2 million for the baby pics.

"They probably do it to keep someone else from getting their hands on it and to preserve their reputation that they always get the best on weddings and babies," says an industry insider.

It should be very interesting to see how the Nicole Richie baby pics do!
