Money Lessons You Wish You Learned in College

http://www.busybod.com/money_in_hand.jpgIn the course of reporting this weekend’s Your Money column, I traveled to Champlain College in Burlington, Vt., to learn more about what it refers to as its “financial sophistication” program. As far as I know, Champlain is the only college in the country right now to make completion of financial literacy seminars a requirement for all undergraduates. (If you know of others, please let me know in the comments below.)

So far, Champlain has introduced workshops on credit scores and reports and basic budgeting. It’s about to add others on student loans, buying or leasing a car and understanding the value of employee benefits when considering a job offer (something that many middle-age people don’t bother to do).

So what do you wish you had learned in college about money?
