It May Not Be Over Yet For The Housewives!

There's no official word yet form ABC, but sources close the show are revealing that Desperate Housewives is still in negotiations - for one last time.

Rumor has it that when then eighth season comes to a close next year, that will be the end of Wisteria Lane forever. So far, no one from the network has said anything about negotiations or a renewal, which has made speculation on the fate of the series run ramped.

But one source is suggesting that things are taking a bit longer than usual for the renewal of the show because of the nature of the leading ladies contracts. According to an insider, Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross are all making sure they get a "substantial pay out" on their contracts as these will be the last they ever get. The insider suggests the ladies are willing to stay through season ten, as that's when creator Marc Cherry's contract runs out. The insider reveals:

“Yes, that is why things are taking a little longer. People want it to be a substantial payday, and would like to be fair to everyone involved. But the vibe for now is positive and there hasn’t been any fighting yet.”

Well, that's good to hear. We'd really love it if the rest of the Housewives could leave the show on good terms.

So, there might be some hope afterall! Keep your fingers crossed!
