COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - Detectives from the Covington Police Department have recovered three quarters of a million dollars in stolen property from a Cash-In Pawn that is believed to have come from shoplifting rings in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas.
The items taken include Crest Whitening Strips, Extenze male enhancement drugs, Oral-B and other power tooth brushes, and sporting goods apparel.
The stolen property was found after investigators obtained a search warrant for the business on January 12. Investigators say many of the stolen items still had price tags on them. The property came from big box stores like Dick's Sporting goods and Wal-Mart. Some of the stolen goods were from private residences.
The owner of the store, 46-year-old Charlie Wilson, was arrested on a warrant for not appearing in court. Police say Wilson had failed to comply with multiple city ordinances, including not reporting all of his pawning activities to police within 24 hours. Wilson could soon face other charges.
All of the stolen items were loaded in an eighteen foot truck and shipped to the Covington Police Department as evidence in the case. Police say they will be working to get the items back to their rightful owner.
