Lunar Eclipse 2010 during Winter Solstice
Apart from the fact that lunar eclipses are rare phenomena, the lunar eclipse will also give us a chance to see our white moon in a different light – reddish or brownish, because of the atmospheric dust, and the light from volcanic eruptions.
The lunar eclipse 2010 during the winter solstice will be the result of the alignment of the sun, moon and earth in a perfect line, which will enable the earth to block the light of the sun from reaching the moon.
The eclipse will begin on Monday night, but will be fully visible only by Tuesday, when people from the West coast will be able to witness the phenomenon.
The fact that the lunar eclipse in 2010 is coinciding with the winter solstice is something that is special because it is during this time that the moon is farthest from the earth thus making it look like being at the highest point in the sky.
The beginning part of the lunar eclipse 2010 will be visible in Western Europe, and the last part can be seen in Asia.
